WATCH OUT – RUSTY’S ABOUT
As part of Cowalfest Cowal Red Squirrel Group [ CRSG ] invited Rusty the Red Squirrel to Glenbranter. He amazed the local population of red squirrels and visiting walkers by his playing of the bagpipes and agility in the nearby trees. When it rained he scurried into the Forestry Commission Information Centre and watched his Glenbranter cousins scampering through the trees quite undaunted by the Argyll Rain. Perhaps that’s why they like Cowal so much.
On a more serious note if you see a real squirrel please report it to: www.scottishwildlifetrust.org.uk
Cowal is one of the 18 stronghold sites in Scotland and as a group we are trying to do all we can to maintain our red squirrel population. If you wish to help us locally then please contact us through our website: www.cowalredsquirrelgroup.org/contact or Telephone Jan Ferguson Tel 01369 870346.
